NFL Week 10, Giants vs Cowboys: Can the Giants win you money in this game?
31.1K
The Cowboys have reached the former midpoint of the season. At 5-3, there’s a bit of disappointment in their performance so far. The loss to the Arizona Cardinals was one of those inexcusable defeats that will be looked back on if the club fails to secure the top seed in the NFC playoffs. That became increasingly more likely when Dallas fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, which stacked on to their loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
More likely, but not impossible. The 49ers have lost three games in a row and Dallas simply needs to win one more game down the stretch than San Francisco and they will avoid the head-to-head tiebreaker. Dallas also has another game against the Eagles to close the gap, but now will need some help from Philly’s other opponents. The first order of business though, is to handle their own business.
Dallas has nine games remaining and in order to earn home-field advantage and play all playoff games at AT&T Stadium where they’ve won 11 straight games, the club has to get on a rampage. Can they do that? Here’s one set of predictions as to how the remaining nine games in the regular season will go.
Week 10: Home vs New York Giants

Things are bad with the New York offense and the loss of Daniel Jones does somewhat register on the Richter, but division games are what they are. Still, the Cowboys have won 6 straight over the Giants at AT&T, average score of 30.5 to 17.8.
Prediction: Win (6-3)
Week 11: @ Carolina Panthers

They’re still professionals but this is a bad team with not a lot going for them.
Prediction: Win (7-3)
Week 12: vs Washington Commanders (Thanksgiving)

The Commanders offense seems to be coming into it’s own as Sam Howell gets more skins on the wall, no pun intended. This isn’t going to be the cakewalk many think it will be, but Dallas should still prevail.
Prediction: Win (8-3)
Week 13: vs Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks haven’t played as well as their record says and their defense is the biggest culprit. Seattle already has a big road win, handling the Detroit Lions, but that was back in Week 2. It’s tough to get a read on just what caliber of team Seattle is in 2023, other than they have capable ceilings.
Prediction: Win (9-3)
Week 14: Home vs Philadelphia Eagles

Did You Know? Remember those Sportscenter bits at the ends of the shows? Did you know the Cowboys have won their last five home games against the Philadelphia Eagles? And by an average margin of just under 16 points a contest? Weird, right?
Prediction: Win (10-3)
Week 15: @ Buffalo Bills
You know how each and every of the remaining 31 NFL teams and their fanbases hate Dallas? Well, let’s just say the Bils are that and then some. Because they only play every four years, it’s ratcheted up. The back-to-back Super Bowl defeats (funny how both teams share the appearance drought but no one ever says Buffalo is underachieving) already made it 10-times worse.
Now add in December, western New York. Brutal circumstances to go up against, however Buffalo has artificial turf, Dallas’ favorite playing surface.
Prediction: Win (11-3)
Week 16: @ Miami Dolphins
Dec 25, 2022; Miami Gardens, Florida, USA; Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (1) stands on the field during the second half against the Green Bay Packers at Hard Rock Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Miami’s offense is one of the best the league has seen, but they’ve struggled against top defenses. Dallas has one of those, but they don’t play well on grass, like what Hard Rock Stadium has. 2-0 on road turf, 3-0 on home turf, 0-3 on road grass.
Prediction: Loss (11-4)
Week 17: Home vs Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff passes against the Philadelphia Eagles during the second half at Ford Field, Sept. 11, 2022.
Nfl Philadelphia Eagles At Detroit Lions
That this is the sixth-most difficult game remaining for the Cowboys show just how treacherous the gauntlet is. Dallas has won the last five meetings, but they better take this one with all seriousness. The Lions’ narrative is the blue-collar franchise and we know how that plays against the country-club reputation the Cowboys are assigned.
Prediction: Win (12-4)
Week 18: @ Washington Commanders
Jan 8, 2023; Landover, Maryland, USA; Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell (14) talks with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) after the game at FedExField. Mandatory Credit: Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports
The likelihood that this is a home road game is high, if Dallas can have the type of second half predicted above. That means they’ll have a reason to go all out as a bye week or a home game could be on the line here.
Prediction: Win (13-4)
